What is Cartenza?

Cartenza is an AI-powered knowledge partner that connects to your GitHub repository and helps you capture engineering knowledge as you work — observations, decisions, lessons learned, and replayable routines. It works through Claude Projects. Your knowledge lives in Git. You own it forever.

How to get started

Choose your role at onboarding and we'll email you the right system prompt.

1. Create your account at app.cartenza.ai/onboarding. Your API key is shown once — save it immediately.
2. Choose your persona. Systems Engineer, PhD Student, Entrepreneur, or Product Manager. Cartenza emails you the matching system prompt.
3. Create a GitHub repo for your knowledge base — any empty private repo works. Copy the repo URL.
4. Generate a GitHub PAT with repo read/write permissions at github.com → Settings → Developer Settings → Personal Access Tokens.
5. Add MCP servers to your Claude Project. Go to claude.ai → Projects → Settings → Add MCP Server: knowledge-repo → https://repo.cartenza.ai/mcp, workspace-manager → https://workspace.cartenza.ai/mcp, project-artifact-repo → https://projects.cartenza.ai/mcp
6. Paste the system prompt into your Claude Project → Project Instructions. Fill in the User Configuration block at the top: API key, PAT, and repo URL.
7. Start logging. Open a chat in your Cartenza Claude Project. Tell Claude what you observed, decided, or learned. Cartenza writes it to your repo and hands you a tappable link.
